Description

ETHIBOND EXCEL™ Suture, Size 0, Green, 8 x 18", with a CT-2 Taper Point Needle, is a sterile, nonabsorbable, braided surgical suture composed of long-chain, high molecular weight linear polyester fibers. The polyester base provides high tensile strength, minimal elongation, and reliable performance during tissue approximation and ligation in various surgical procedures.

The braided construction of the suture enhances flexibility, knot security, and overall handling characteristics. This structure allows for smooth passage through tissue while minimizing fraying and deformation under tension. The even braid pattern ensures consistent suture diameter and strength throughout its length.

The suture is coated with a polybutylate compound, which is a nonabsorbable and biologically stable lubricant. This coating adheres tightly to the fiber surface, reducing tissue drag, enhancing knot tie-down, and improving ease of handling when compared to uncoated braided polyester sutures.
